What Books Would You Recommend...?

I'm in my teens, and I am looking for a good book/ series to delve into. Books I've previously enjoyed include..

The Hunger Games
The Mortal Instruments
The Millenium Trilogy (The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo etc.)

Please NO vampire books, or books where in the summary the words "dark and mysterious boy with secrets" is included. Those books are SO unoriginal and such a snore. I like fiction, some realistic fiction, some historical fiction, and I like fantasy. Books with a little romance are okay, but if the whole plot is consumed with a love story then I don't like it.
